SOPHOMORE YEAR | WEEK 3
New Opportunity | There are some changes coming to Ohio Northern Lacrosse. The head coach of the Women's team recently stepped down, leaving us without a head coach. The university decided it was best to let all coaching staff hired by the previous coach go. The university also decided to name the Men's Lacrosse coach, Coach Saint, as the new Interim Head Coach for Women's Lacrosse. It is now his job to coach the girls, find a new head coach, and so much more. With that, Coach Saint is now my boss when it comes to running the social media. After a meeting with him to see if I still had a job, he has also given me the opportunity to put my name in the running for managing the Men's team's social media. Coach Saint is such an amazing connection in the world of sports media because of his coaching career with the PLL. He explained to me his connections with ESPN and NBC and all the media managing he
saw this summer coaching the PLL. For the past week, I have been making graphics to show Coach Saint. These graphics range from Final Score posts, to Alumni Game announcements, all using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Hopefully, once I submit my portfolio, I may get the opportunity to be the Social Media Manager for the ONU Lacrosse Program.Recruitment is Here! | Sorority Recruitment starts Thursday!! We start with philanthropy round. I can’t wait to share all the amazing philanthropy fundraisers I love so much, and can’t wait to watch my friends Haley and Caylee talk about their work with the philanthropy. Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. We raised over $4,000 last year for our philanthropy through events like Zetar Tots, Potatoes with the Zetas, Think Pink Football Game, and Think Pink Lacrosse Game. My favorite event is the Think Pink Football game. It was the first philanthropy event we had last year after I joined the chapter and it was an event that really made me feel connected to the chapter and our purpose. I got to see everyone in the chapter all in one place and really meet all the girls I now call sisters. I’m so excited to meet all the PNMs and can’t wait to see everyone find their home.
