The week kicked off with a burst of enthusiasm as my sorority hosted the annual Think Pink Football Game, dedicated to our philanthropy of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Collaborating with the Ohio Northern Football Team, we turned one of their home games into a platform for collecting donations to support this crucial cause.
The atmosphere was vibrant, adorned in shades of pink as we rallied to raise funds. Our efforts included a bake sale, a thrilling 50/50 raffle and the heartwarming Pink Baskets initiative. These gift baskets, filled with comforting items, are destined for breast cancer patients, aiming to bring a little light into their challenging journey.
Sunday brought with it a sense of anticipation as the nominated sisters for the next executive council were revealed to the chapter. The Nomination Committee carefully selected a SLATE, presenting one exceptional candidate for each position. It was an honor to find myself slated for the position of Ritual Chair.
As Ritual Chair, I would be responsible for overseeing all the rituals within our sorority, as well as sharing the rich history of both our sorority and chapter. The excitement was palpable, knowing that if the slate passes, my term will extend through the next calendar year, spanning from Spring 2024 to Fall 2024. The process is a simple pass/fail vote, but my optimism leads me to believe in a positive outcome.
With the week in full swing, my responsibilities as Social Chairman took center stage. Looking forward to the weekend, I'm gearing up to hold the upcoming Semi Formals. The venue of choice? The local bowling alley in Ada promises a night filled with laughter, camaraderie and perhaps a bit of friendly competition.
The excitement of organizing an event and seeing it come to life adds an extra layer of fulfillment to my sorority experience. From philanthropic endeavors to leadership nominations and social event planning, each facet of this week paints a vivid picture of the dynamic and fulfilling life within the sisterhood.
As I reflect on these experiences, I am reminded of the power of unity and the impact that small gestures, like a Pink Basket or a well-planned event, can have on both our sisterhood and the community at large. Here's to the spirit of giving, leadership and the bonds that make every week in the sorority a memorable one.
What an awesome cause! It was such a good idea to partner with athletics to raise awareness for your fundraiser!
